Amazon has announced that starting in August 2025, it will enhance its Career Choice program in Europe by prepaying 100% of tuition, removing budget caps, and expanding access to more than 100 programs across 40 career paths. This information was disclosed on the company’s website.

Workplace safety has become a cornerstone of Amazon’s operational strategy, reflecting both technological investments and cultural change. According to Amazon’s 2024 Workplace Safety Performance Report, the company reduced its recordable incident rate by 30% between 2019 and 2023. The report highlights the deployment of ergonomic equipment, robotics to handle repetitive tasks, and enhanced training initiatives designed to lower injury rates and strengthen worker well-being.

Amazon is also scaling new safety innovations across its fulfillment network. According to updates from Amazon's newsroom, wearable safety devices now track worker movements to reduce strain, while automated pallet movers and robotics are used to limit lifting-related injuries. These technologies are coupled with AI-driven monitoring systems that identify potential hazards in real time, reinforcing the company’s efforts to build safer and more sustainable working environments.

The Career Choice program itself has had a meaningful impact on Amazon’s workforce since its launch in Europe in 2014. More than 50,000 employees across nine countries have already participated, with 150,000 currently eligible in countries such as Germany, France, Spain, and the UK. With the removal of budget caps and tuition contributions, employees can now pursue over 100 different educational pathways—including IT, transportation, and data analytics—without financial barriers.

Amazon.com Inc., one of the world’s largest companies employing over 1.5 million people worldwide and operating across e-commerce, cloud computing, and logistics sectors says it has invested more than €320 billion in Europe. This investment aims at creating jobs, expanding infrastructure, and supporting local communities. The enhancements to the Career Choice program represent a broader commitment to employee development and reinforce Amazon’s role as both a major employer and a driver of long-term workforce growth.
