Learneo, Inc. has signed and finalized a definitive agreement to acquire the Digital Student Solutions (DSS) segment of Barnes & Noble Education, Inc., according to a press release. The transaction includes bartleby® and Student Brands.

"The addition of DSS to our suite of digital study and writing solutions, helps us deliver on our vision by expanding our educational offering and diversifying Learneo's reach to new audiences and markets worldwide."
The platform specializes in productivity and learning businesses and technologies, offering various subscription-based solutions, educational resources and study/writing support in multiple languages.
The addition forms part of Learno's goal to develop and acquire productivity and learning technologies. The strategy was announced in December 2022.
Other expansion efforts made by Learneo include an AI-powered multilingual writing platform, LanguageTool, among others secured following its $395 million series C funding round.
“Learneo now comprises eight business lines including CliffsNotes, Course Hero, DSS (bartleby® and Student Brands), LanguageTool, LitCharts, QuillBot, Scribbr, and Symbolab,” the press release stated.
To better service its slate of clients, Learneo pairs its platform with various AI-derived technologies.

Based in Redwood, California, the company has also established an operational presence in Canada, Germany, Israel, India and the Netherlands.
