IBM and Riyadh Air have entered into an agreement to integrate IBM's AI portfolio, watsonx, along with IBM Consulting AI solutions to develop a comprehensive AI capability. This initiative aims to enhance experiences for both guests and employees as Riyadh Air gears up for its inaugural flights in late 2025. The partnership was announced at the FII PRIORITY Miami 2025 Summit.

Adam Boukadida, Chief Financial Officer of Riyadh Air, emphasized the airline's vision: "Riyadh Air is more than just an airline; it is a gateway to new opportunities for travelers from the Kingdom and beyond." He further stated that by collaborating with IBM, they aim to "deliver a seamless, world-class travel experience" using AI technologies.

The integration of watsonx will form the foundation of Riyadh Air's AI platform. It will drive critical functions and promote open innovation while focusing on data security, privacy, regulatory compliance, and responsible AI adoption. The deployment will also include autonomous bots for personalized system interactions.

IBM's Senior Vice President Mohamad Ali commented on the partnership: "By embedding watsonx at the core of its operations, Riyadh Air is taking an AI-first approach to redefine air travel."

The decision to collaborate with IBM was influenced by their previous successful engagements with Riyadh Air. This relationship is aligned with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, aiming to transform the Kingdom into a global aviation hub serving millions of passengers annually.

Riyadh Air was launched in March 2023 under the ownership of the Public Investment Fund (PIF). It aims to connect over 100 destinations worldwide by 2030 while incorporating state-of-the-art features in its fleet.
