Juniper Networks and IBM have announced an expansion of their collaboration to integrate Juniper’s Mist AI with IBM watsonx. This partnership aims to simplify the management of IT networks, enhance user experiences, and reduce operational costs. The integration will focus on optimizing client-to-cloud experiences across various network environments including wireless, wired, SD-WAN, data centers, and security.

The collaboration will build upon two internal IBM projects: IBM Guest Services and IBM AskNetwork. The former integrates Mist AI with IBM watsonx Orchestrate to automate IT network support and minimize manual intervention in resolving guest Wi-Fi issues. The latter is an internal tool developed by IBM’s CIO office using watsonx Orchestrate with Mist AI to diagnose network infrastructure problems and provide actionable insights for optimizing network performance.

Additionally, Juniper and IBM plan to explore capabilities such as location-based insights that could benefit industries like healthcare and retail through improved facilities management and user experience.

Bob Friday, Group Vice President and Chief AI Officer at Juniper Networks stated, “Our collaboration with IBM represents a significant leap forward in AI-Native Networking.” Ayal Steinberg from IBM added that this partnership illustrates how ecosystem collaborations can accelerate AI adoption for critical business use cases.

Both companies will be present at the Mobile World Congress (MWC), where they will showcase their collaborative efforts in network operations optimization using AI.
