U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Linda Thomas-Greenfield participated in a meeting with Haitian government leaders, CARICOM heads of government, and representatives from the United Nations, United Kingdom, Canada, and France. The meeting focused on addressing the humanitarian and security crisis in Haiti and emphasized the need for a swift return to democratic order.

According to U.S. Mission to the United Nations Spokesperson Nate Evans, "The leaders agreed on the urgency of deploying the UN-authorized Multinational Security Support mission."
