Google & Alphabet recently released what they are calling the ‘AI Opportunity Agenda,’ targeting global business and government leaders with policy recommendations for artificial intelligence development and application.

This initiative echoes other ongoing global efforts in AI governance, including the G7's code of conduct and the UN AI Advisory Body's guidelines.

Kent Walker, President of Global Affairs at Google & Alphabet, highlighted the need for balanced AI regulation that addresses both risks and economic opportunities.

"Our AI efforts will need to include both guardrails to mitigate potential risks and initiatives to maximize progress — promoting economic productivity and solving big social challenges," said Walker.

The agenda outlines three key areas: enhancing AI infrastructure and innovation, developing an AI-ready workforce, and increasing AI accessibility and adoption. It emphasizes the importance of public-private partnerships in applying AI in industries such as healthcare, agriculture, and economic development.

Established in 1998, the multinational technology company is known for its leadership in online search, advertising, cloud computing, software, and now AI development.
