Amazon, through its Amazon Web Services (AWS) unit, has announced the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Cybersecurity Agency of Singapore. The agreement aims to enhance Singapore's cyber defense through threat intelligence sharing, technical collaboration, and ecosystem development.

According to Amazon’s official press release, the Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) was announced during the Singapore International Cybersecurity Week 2025 by Minister Josephine Teo. The agreement focuses on reinforcing Singapore’s Smart Nation and cyber resilience objectives through coordinated defense measures. The collaboration reflects AWS’s strategic engagement with governments worldwide to advance national cybersecurity frameworks and secure digital infrastructure.

The MOC establishes formal channels for cyber threat intelligence sharing, joint operations on incidents affecting systems of national importance, and technical collaborations including joint tabletop exercises. According to Amazon, this structured cooperation is designed to accelerate response times and improve the resilience of public-sector systems. AWS’s security teams will contribute specialized expertise to assist Singapore in strengthening its cyber defense posture across government and industry.

According to The Straits Times, Singapore ranks among the world’s top three nations in the International Telecommunication Union’s Global Cybersecurity Index 2024, highlighting the country’s strong cyber governance and readiness. This collaboration with Amazon builds upon Singapore’s ongoing efforts to secure critical infrastructure and manage emerging risks from artificial intelligence and cloud adoption. AWS Vice President Paul Vixie noted that the partnership will help Singapore grow as a secure global AI hub through technology that drives positive societal impact.
