Amazon Web Services (AWS) has announced an expansion of its global partnership with HUMAIN to deploy up to 150,000 NVIDIA and AWS artificial intelligence (AI) accelerators in Saudi Arabia. This initiative aims to support large-scale generative AI infrastructure and workforce development, as detailed in a press release.
According to Business Wire, AWS and HUMAIN revealed their expanded collaboration at the U.S.–Saudi Investment Forum. This marks the establishment of Saudi Arabia’s first "AI Zone," designed to facilitate next-generation AI workloads. The zone will feature NVIDIA GB300 AI infrastructure and AWS Trainium chips, which are intended to provide scalable computing for large language models and advanced AI applications. This effort aligns with Saudi Arabia’s strategic objective of becoming a global hub for AI innovation while meeting the increasing international demand for computing power.
Under this agreement, the new AI Zone in Riyadh will implement up to 150,000 AI accelerators using the latest NVIDIA GB300s and AWS Trainium chips. This infrastructure is expected to support compute-intensive AI training, model inference, and deployment for enterprise and government clients worldwide. AWS executives described this initiative as "a pivotal step" towards enabling global customers to access foundational models through Amazon Bedrock, Amazon AgentCore, and Amazon SageMaker on a unified platform.
The partnership also includes a workforce development program aimed at training 100,000 Saudi citizens and 10,000 women in cloud computing and generative AI through the Amazon Academy. Reuters reports that this initiative forms part of a $5 billion investment plan by AWS and HUMAIN to expand AI infrastructure and build regional talent capacity. By leveraging HUMAIN’s local expertise alongside AWS’s technological resources, the collaboration seeks to contribute an estimated $130 billion to Saudi Arabia’s GDP by 2030.
