Amazon has announced that it, in collaboration with 21 high schools in West Java, has set a Guinness World Records title for the most applications created at an on-site generative AI event. The event resulted in the production of 10,821 unique applications.
According to Amazon's press release, the record attempt involved these high schools working alongside nonprofit partners Prestasi Junior Indonesia, Alkademi Foundation, and Yayasan Sagasitas Indonesia. This effort was part of a year-long program focused on creative and responsible use of generative AI. Students arrived with pre-conceptualized ideas, which were then implemented by teachers and nonprofit staff using PartyRock, an Amazon Bedrock playground. The activities took place both at schools and at the Amazon Think Big Space located at SMK Negeri 1 Karawang.
The press release further states that participants produced 10,821 distinct and functional generative AI applications during the event. This achievement earned them the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title for "Most Applications Made In An On-site Generative AI Event." It confirms that all applications were verified as unique and operational under rigorous adjudication by an official GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS adjudicator present on site.
