Carenet Health has teamed up with various private universities in Manila, Philippines, to launch a robust internship program to foster opportunities for students interested in the business, web and mobile application, data science and business analytics fields.

“Carenet Health’s work with these three programs at Far Eastern University is demonstrative of our deepening presence in the Philippines and our dedication to developing key relationships there, as we are currently growing our number of Filipino employees based out of the country, in addition to our interns,” Carenet's COO Christopher Rogers told Businesswire.

The list of institutions include Far Eastern University (FEU) Alabang, FEU Diliman and FEU Institute of Technology,

Specializing in on-demand patient engagement solutions around the clock, Carenet Health hopes to also receive services for its CX Analytics Group as a result of the data-labeling internship. The group is tasked with identifying and mending challenges related to health care services and promoting “visibility into engagement touch points before, during and after customer service interactions."

The data-labeling internship is intended for “students to work on projects that aid in the improvement of key industry performance indicators, such as consumer satisfaction, process and policy compliance, and machine learning capabilities,” Businesswire said.

The current cohorts are five interns, capable of generating more than 100,000 data labels during their 10-week internship. So far, the program has trained 10 interns and plans to increase its cohort count to between 30 and 50 interns.

“As a preferred partner, Carenet Health has given our students invaluable access to an internship program where they can learn skills that will allow them to succeed in the workforce upon graduation,” Carmencita Suarez -- director of the Industry Academe, Linkage, Alumni and Placement (IALAP) at FEU Institute of Technology -- told Businesswire. “Students gain important experience working for an American company, a critical professional advantage as they develop their skills and enter the workforce.”

Upon selecting the student cohorts, Carenet will supply them with the equipment needed to work from home, such as headsets and laptops. The interns will then receive training to learn how to use Microsoft Excel, as well as communication, presentation and data analytic skills. Carenet has also committed to helping the students develop their networking abilities by creating LinkedIn pages and attending cover letter and job interview workshops.

“Working with Carenet Health in their data-labeling internship program has opened my eyes to the world of health care and consumer engagement," said Gregorio Manio, a current data labeling intern for Carenet’s CX Analytics Group. "I'm learning integral skills in the field of business analytics while gaining strong workforce experience.”
