AM Best recently appointed Rob Curtis to be the managing director of market development for the Asia-Pacific region. He officially assumed the role on July 1, a press release stated.
“We are excited to have Rob join our teams in Asia given his extensive experience in those markets,” executive vice president and chief strategy officer, Andrea Keenan, said. “Together, we look forward to developing AM Best’s profile further in major Asia-Pacific markets.”
With more than three decades of insurance and reinsurance management experience, the Singapore-based executive is set to report to Keenan.
The financial service professional, credited for forming part of the AIS and an honorary fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, will also serve as co-CEO of AM Best Asia-Pacific Pte Ltd.
Before accepting his position, Curtis led various expert divisions at Hong Kong’s Insurance Authority, overseeing the development of the city’s supervision and macro-prudential frameworks on a group scale.
He also worked as chair of the International Association of Insurance Supervisors, where he became more familiar with group-wide supervision, and at KPMG as regulatory lead for insurance in both, the Asia-Pacific, and on a global scale.
