Lineage Logistics has established its footprint in Singapore through its recent Mandai Link Logistics acquisition. The financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed, a press release reported.
“Mandai established Singapore’s first fully automated cold storage facility and has been long considered a local market leader in the provision of cold storage warehousing and distribution services,” Jeff Hogarth, president of Asia Pacific at Lineage, said in a release.
Hogarth said the major trading hub has been planning this expansion as part of a long-term strategic goal. The company hopes to continue expanding its global end-to-end logistics capabilities across the Asian Pacific region.
“Tan Seng Eng, CEO of Mandai, is a visionary who made a huge bet by investing early in automation, and we are pleased that she will stay on as an advisor to Lineage,” Hogarth said.
Considered one of the most prominent distribution hubs for refrigerated food, Mandai specializes in various procurement, transport and warehousing services. The company has garnered a fleet of refrigerated trucks and a facility with a capacity to hold 28,000 pallets. According to the facility, the main facility is fully automated and has an integration of solar power and a rainwater collection system to wash refrigerated trucks.
“Mandai’s facilities, combined with our industry-leading technology and innovations, will assist customers to navigate increasing supply chain demands in Singapore and internationally,” Hogarth said. “We look forward to working closely with Mandai’s customers on these new opportunities.”
