Supply chain software developer project44, recently launched an extension to its comprehensive multimodal supply chain visibility platform worldwide.

With the help of new offerings, there will be 99% network coverage, as well as visibility into individual shipments, which is crucial when considering the unpredictability of supply chain disruptions, a Jan. 27 press release stated.

"Growing environmental pressure on European companies to achieve CO2-neutral supply chain operations by 2030 is driving increased demand toward rail-based transportation across the (Europe)," said Jett McCandless, founder and CEO of project44, in the release. "The complexity of the European rail market has so far hindered true cross-border visibility. In response, we are dramatically improving the breadth and depth of our visibility platform globally, and in Europe specifically. Our newest technologies will help our customers improve ETAs (Estimated Times of Arrival), reduce costs, maximize on-time deliveries and maneuver around supply chain bottlenecks."

The new offerings expand intermodal visibility including rail, with nearly full network coverage, improved cold-chain visibility, and extended visibility for barge, the release stated.

"project44's enterprising platform has been chosen to deliver the intermodal visibility needed for better predicting product arrival times and moving cargo efficiently and with minimal complications, boosting the customer experience from start to finish," said Xavier Bour, global ground and rail leader at CEVA Logistics, in the release.

All models in the region, including individual shipments and rail cars, will be analyzed using sensors, the company stated.

The company's European network has grown to more than 800,000 connected assets and a reach of over 2.4 million assets, according to the release.

"project44's platform has significantly reduced uncertainty and complexities previously experienced in the supply chain by enhancing transparency," said Mark Holloway, vice president for global supply chain at Goodyear.
