Maxar Technologies, a provider of comprehensive space solutions and secure, precise, geospatial intelligence, announced Feb. 3 that it secured a new five-year agreement with longtime partners, European Space Imaging and Space Imaging Middle East.

The agreement continues an 11-year partnership, according to a press release. The pact will also help the companies better serve customers in Europe, Northern Africa, and the Middle East, according to officials knowledgeable about the deal.

"We're delighted to continue one of our longest and most important partnerships in this region," Tony Frazier, Maxar executive vice president and general manager public sector Maxar Earth Intelligence, said in the release. "This agreement ensures European and Middle Eastern customers will have access to the highest quality satellite imagery and innovative products, such as our 15 cm HD imagery. We are pleased that customers in Europe, Northern Africa and the Middle East will soon be able to take advantage of WorldView Legion's game-changing capabilities."

Under the agreement, the European Space Imaging's ground station will be upgraded to enable it to access Maxar's WorldView Legion satellites, the release stated. European Space Imaging and Space Imaging Middle East specialize in high-resolution satellite imagery and market their products to a wide spectrum of government and commercial organizations.

"This enduring alliance between Space Imaging Middle East, European Space Imaging and Maxar Technologies has been fundamental to the success of all parties involved for many years, and we are very pleased to see it extended further," Maitha Juma, chairperson of Space Imaging Middle East and European Space Imaging, said in the release.

Adrian Zevenbergen, managing director of European Space Imaging, said the partnership will have several benefits.

"Accessing the highest quality satellite data at unapparelled efficiency in the collection and delivery process will provide new business opportunities that will benefit both our team and the European Earth Observation community as a whole,” he said in the release.

Maxar has more than 4,000 employees serving in 20 locations around the globe, the release stated.
