Vultr continues to expand its cloud computing footprint with the formation of a new cloud data center in São Paulo, Brazil.
In a news release, J.J. Kardwell, CEO of Constant, the company that created Vultr, pointed out that the company’s value proposition of providing easy-to-use, high performance cloud infrastructure at a fair, predictable price is striking a chord with developers and businesses who are tiring of the cost and complexity of clouds from larger companies.
"Vultr’s independence is a significant advantage, and we've been able to rapidly expand our cloud data center locations to increase accessibility for businesses and developers around the world,” Katferll said in the news release. “With three new locations planned for 2022 and more in the works, we are well-positioned to become the preeminent independent provider of cloud infrastructure for businesses and developers around the world."
With the company’s launch in Brazil's largest city, the news release noted that Vultr has 2 1/2 times as many global data center locations as DigitalOcean, solidifying its position as the independent cloud with the largest global footprint. The company said it opened the location in response to demand from developers in that region, according to the release.
In addition to the Brazilian location, Vultr recently launched facilities in Mexico City and Stockholm, bringing to 20 the number of locations, according to the news release. The company also noted in the release that it plans locations in Madrid, Spain; Melbourne, Australia; and Warsaw, Poland.
Formed in 2014, according to the release, Vultr has been able to grow without raising any equity financing. During 2021, it was able to spark its global expansion with a $150 million credit facility from J.P. Morgan and Bank of America.
Moreover, the company also has unveiled new developer-centric products such as its Vultr Kubernetes Engine, and according to the release, the company signed more than 350 partners for the new program during 2021.
