The United States has extended congratulations to Equatorial Guinea on the occasion of its 57th anniversary of independence, which is celebrated on October 12. In a statement released by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, the U.S. government expressed its commitment to continued cooperation with Equatorial Guinea.
"The United States remains committed to working together to further developing our mutual commercial interests and promoting economic growth. We appreciate Equatorial Guinea’s work with the United States and our allies on maritime security and to promote a more positive business climate in the greater Gulf of Guinea. In the coming year, we look forward to deepening our trade and security ties," Rubio stated.
He also conveyed best wishes for the people of Equatorial Guinea: "As you celebrate another year of independence, we send our wishes for a peaceful and prosperous year for all Equatoguineans."
