The Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program is inviting applications from Tunisian scholars for the 2026-2027 academic year. The program enables selected participants to conduct advanced research at universities in the United States for up to one academic year.

To be eligible, applicants must be Tunisian citizens residing in Tunisia and hold a doctoral degree or an equivalent professional qualification. All fields of study are accepted except medical or clinical research involving patient care, training, or contact.

Applicants are required to submit a detailed statement outlining their proposed research activity at a U.S. university. Proficiency in English is necessary to achieve the goals of the project. Candidates should also demonstrate how their project will benefit themselves, their home institution, Tunisia, and the U.S. host institution. The ability to serve as a cultural ambassador for Tunisia is also considered during selection.

The grant covers round-trip travel between Tunisia and the United States, full financial support during the stay, medical insurance, and access to professional and cultural enrichment opportunities.

Applications must be submitted online through https://apply.iie.org/fvsp2026 by December 28, 2025. Incomplete or late applications will not be reviewed. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. According to program guidelines, "Plagiarism or misrepresentation in an application can lead to disqualification at any stage of the program. Participation is contingent upon eligibility for and receipt of a J-1 visa."
