On October 22, a shooting occurred near Pionirski Park in downtown Belgrade, across from the Parliament building. The incident resulted in an undetermined number of injuries and was followed by a fire. According to the U.S. Embassy in Belgrade, the situation appears to be localized and there are no known threats to U.S. citizens at this time.
The Embassy has advised all U.S. citizens to avoid the area, monitor local media for updates, keep a low profile, notify friends and family of their safety, and remain aware of their surroundings.
