The United States government has announced approximately Php13.8 billion ($250 million) in foreign assistance to the Philippines aimed at strengthening health systems, improving disease detection and response, and enhancing maternal and child health services. The announcement was made on September 12, 2025.

With this new funding, the total amount of recently announced U.S. foreign assistance to the Philippines now exceeds Php17 billion ($313 million). This follows a previous commitment of Php3 billion ($63 million) for initiatives including energy sector resilience, efforts against illegal fishing in the South China Sea, and private sector development in the Luzon Economic Corridor.

The latest funding will focus on key areas such as Tuberculosis Control and Prevention, Global Health Security, Maternal and Child Health and Nutrition. It will also support supply chain management, data and information systems, and laboratory strengthening.

“This funding underscores the United States’ unwavering commitment to the health and well-being of the Filipino people and demonstrates our long-term partnership in addressing shared challenges,” said U.S. Ambassador to the Philippines MaryKay Carlson. “Together, we are building a healthier, more resilient future.”

The U.S. Embassy Foreign Assistance Section will oversee implementation of these initiatives in designated priority areas.
