Multiple parades are scheduled to take place in Lilongwe on Saturday, July 18, 2025. These events may lead to increased security risks and disruptions throughout the city. The parades will start from different locations and converge at Bingu National Stadium.

Parade Route 1 will begin at the Cenotaph at Area 18, moving through the interchange and Presidential Way to reach Bingu National Stadium. Parade Route 2 starts from MRA/Kaunda roundabout, passing through Crossroads, Bwandilo roundabout, Area 18 interchange, and Presidential Way before arriving at the stadium. Lastly, Parade Route 4 commences from the junction of Area 25 and Area 49, proceeding through Area 49 and Gulliver towards Bingu National Stadium.

The U.S. Embassy in Lilongwe has advised that there is a potential for violence or spontaneous clashes during these demonstrations. Road congestion and disruptions are expected around affected areas. The embassy recommends avoiding crowds as tear gas might be used to disperse demonstrations.
