Fulbright Scholars and participants in U.S. Government-sponsored exchange programs may be exempt from paying visa application processing fees. This exemption applies to those involved in educational and cultural exchange initiatives funded by the Department of State, USAID, or other U.S. Government entities, provided their program serial number begins with G-1, G-2, G-3, or G-7 on the DS-2019 form.

Travelers must determine if they qualify for this fee waiver. Eligible individuals are required to visit the Consular Section in person to submit their visa applications every Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., excluding Nigerien and U.S. holidays. No appointment is necessary for Fulbright Scholars or participants in similar programs.

Applicants need to present several documents per person: a valid passport, the original DS-2019 form, the printed confirmation page of visa application form DS-160 with a barcode, and a recent full-face color photo measuring 5 cm x 5 cm on a white background.
