William E. Grayson appointed Commissioner General for USA Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka

The White House has approved Ambassador William E. Grayson as Commissioner General for the USA Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka, according to an announcement by the Department of State. This appointment continues a tradition of appointing civic-minded leaders to represent U.S. interests at global events.

Ambassador Grayson is currently on leave from RBC Wealth Management, where he serves as Managing Director and Founder of The Grayson Group. His previous roles include National Director for Family Offices at Alliance Bernstein, with similar senior positions held at J.P. Morgan and BancAmerica Securities.

Grayson's career also includes ten years in law practice and service in five presidential administrations. His roles have spanned the Department of the Army, the President’s Commission on White House Fellowships, and Chairman of the Presidio Trust. He has been involved with several investment committees and boards such as University of Hawaii Foundation, National Park Foundation, Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, and UC Berkeley’s Institute for Governmental Studies.

World Expos provide opportunities to highlight American innovation and leadership globally. Expo 2025 Osaka began on April 13, 2025, expecting 28 million visitors over six months. The USA Pavilion has already seen over 400,000 visitors with exhibits focused on U.S. exchange opportunities and leadership in innovation and space exploration.
