The U.S. Embassy in Tunis has announced the opening of applications for the 2026-2027 Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program. This program offers a one-year opportunity for professionals from both public and private sectors to engage in non-degree graduate-level study, leadership development, and collaboration with American counterparts in the United States.
According to the announcement, "the Humphrey Fellowship Program is one of the U.S. government’s most prestigious programs bringing accomplished young, and mid-career professionals to the United States for a year of non-degree graduate-level study, leadership development, and substantive collaboration with American counterparts." The program aims to provide participants with exposure to the American work environment and foster lasting partnerships.
Applications are open for individuals with at least five years of full-time professional experience in fields such as Agriculture & Rural Development, Economic Policy & Finance, Natural Resources & Environmental Policy, Urban & Regional Planning, Communications & Journalism, Law & Human Rights, Public Policy Analysis & Public Administration, Technology Policy & Management, Educational Administration, Planning & Policy, Public Health Policy & Management, and Substance Abuse Education and Policy.
Eligibility criteria include Tunisian citizenship and residency, a four-year university degree, five years of relevant professional experience prior to October 2025 with management or policy responsibilities, demonstrated leadership qualities with potential for advancement and commitment to public service, as well as fluency in English.
