U.S. Navy Admiral Alvin Holsey, Commander of the U.S. Southern Command (SOUTHCOM), is set to visit Brazil this week for a series of key leader engagements in Brasília. This three-day visit marks Adm. Holsey's first trip to Brazil since he took command of SOUTHCOM last November.

The visit aims to strengthen security cooperation between the United States and Brazil, one of its enduring partners in the Western Hemisphere. During his stay, Adm. Holsey will meet with Brazilian Defense Minister José Mucio Monteiro and various service chiefs.

"Our military partnership with Brazil is as strong as ever," reflects the longstanding defense ties that date back over a century to World War I.

Brazil's ongoing leadership role in promoting regional security cooperation and multinational partnerships highlights the shared commitment between two of the Western Hemisphere's largest democracies and militaries towards achieving a secure, peaceful, and prosperous future.
