Since 2020, the process for most immigrant visa cases has shifted to being conducted almost entirely online before the interview. Applicants are advised to frequently check their registered email and log into https://ceac.state.gov/iv/login.aspx to verify if any updates or additional documents are necessary.

Applicants must scan and upload requested documents through their CEAC account using the case number and Invoice ID provided by the National Visa Center (NVC). The U.S. Embassy is unable to upload documents on behalf of applicants.

Ensuring full preparation is crucial for a smooth interview process. Missing required documents may result in the need to reschedule the interview. As stated, "your visa application is your responsibility."
