Chargé d’affaires Anu Prattipati addressed the Fortinet Conference, emphasizing the importance of U.S. investment in Kosovo and highlighting cybersecurity cooperation as a priority. Speaking on behalf of the U.S. Embassy, Prattipati expressed gratitude to participants for engaging in discussions vital to Kosovo's future and shared priorities.
"When we talk about Kosovo’s economic potential, we’re talking about people—innovators, entrepreneurs, and leaders," said Prattipati. The U.S. Embassy supports efforts to attract American investment and foster innovation, aiming to develop a skilled workforce ready for future challenges.
Prattipati underscored the significance of promoting U.S. investments in Kosovo to strengthen bilateral economic ties and mutual growth. Highlighting opportunities in emerging markets such as energy, ICT, and industrial production could attract more U.S. businesses.
"The business community gathered here today plays a pivotal role in expanding that narrative—and in opening doors for bilateral investments that benefit both our countries," Prattipati stated.
Cybersecurity was identified as a top-tier priority for the United States, with American companies leading globally in this field. "Cybersecurity is not a luxury; it’s an essential building block for economic growth, public trust, and national security," Prattipati emphasized.
Fortinet's interest in doing business in Kosovo was praised as an example of desired partnerships. Quoting Fortinet's mission from their website: "a driving force in the evolution of cybersecurity and the convergence of networking and security."
Prattipati stressed that cybersecurity is not solely a government responsibility but also involves the private sector's role in building digital resilience. Forums like the Fortinet Conference are valuable for bringing together industry leaders to explore practical solutions.
