The U.S. Mission in Ecuador has announced a visit by representatives from the Regional Federal Benefits Unit to Quito and Cuenca. The visit, scheduled for May 12 to 15, 2025, aims to provide services related to U.S. Social Security and other federal benefits.

In Quito, the services will be offered at the Centro Ecuatoriano Norteamericano located at Av. Amazonas y La Prensa (Antiguo Aeropuerto Quito). In Cuenca, the venue is the Abraham Lincoln Cultural Center on Calle Borrero 5-18 y Honorato Vásquez.

No appointment is necessary for this event. A limited number of tickets will be available each day on a first-come, first-served basis for those wishing to meet with a representative. However, individuals who only need to submit their 2024 Foreign Enforcement Questionnaire SSA 7162/7161 form can do so during service hours without requiring a ticket or meeting with a representative.

Attendees are advised to bring original documents along with photocopies required for their applications. Specific instructions have been provided for those preparing for appointments:

For the Foreign Enforcement Questionnaire (FEQ), individuals whose Social Security Numbers end in 00 through 49 and have an Ecuadorian mailing address must submit this form if not already done by January 2025. Failure to comply may result in suspension of benefits.

Applicants for Social Security Benefits should bring an original and copy of their birth certificate and valid U.S. passport. Those applying for auxiliary or survivor’s benefits as a spouse must also provide marriage and death certificates.

For Social Security Number Card applications, specific documentation requirements vary based on age, with additional details available on the U.S. Mission's webpage.
