The U.S. Embassy in Kyiv has announced that Ambassador Julie S. Davis will take on the position of Chargé d’Affaires, ad interim, starting Monday, May 5. Ambassador Davis will represent President Trump and Secretary Rubio in her new role, engaging with the Ukrainian government and its people as she aims to foster a stronger and more secure relationship between the United States and Ukraine.
Ambassador Davis, a seasoned diplomat with 30 years of experience, currently serves as the U.S. Ambassador to Cyprus and was previously Ambassador/Special Envoy for Belarus. Her prior roles include Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Western Europe and the European Union, and Deputy Permanent Representative of the U.S. Mission to NATO.
She expressed, "Ambassador Davis is honored to serve in this capacity until the President nominates an Ambassador to Ukraine."
