The United States has reiterated its strong objection to Francesca Albanese's role as the United Nations Special Rapporteur on human rights in the Palestinian territories. Her position is a point of contention for the U.S., particularly concerning the continued support she receives from the UN Human Rights Council (HRC).

U.S. officials have pointed to her activities as an example supporting the decision made during President Trump's administration to withdraw from the HRC. The U.S. statement underscores that "the Human Rights Council’s (HRC) support for Ms. Albanese offers yet another example of why President Trump ordered the United States to cease all participation in the HRC."

Furthermore, in the view of the U.S., Ms. Albanese's actions are seen as indicative of what they describe as "antisemitic hatred," and bias against Israel, along with what they characterize as the "legitimization of terrorism" being tolerated by the United Nations. These allegations reflect ongoing tensions concerning the interpretation and handling of human rights issues within the occupied Palestinian territories.
