Appointments for routine consular services are presently available with minimal waiting time at the U.S. Embassy in Manila and the Consular Agency in Cebu. However, as the summer season approaches, the demand for these services is expected to increase. Residents are encouraged to apply now to beat the rush.

Many countries necessitate that a passport has at least six months of validity to permit entry. Thus, if a passport is due to expire in 2025, it is advised to renew it now.

The available consular services include passport applications for new issuances, renewals, and replacements; notary services, which involve the notarization of documents; and assistance with the Consular Report of Birth Abroad (CRBA). It is urged to review the CRBA checklist if necessary.

Appointments for passport and notary services can be scheduled online for both the U.S. Embassy in Manila and the Consular Agency in Cebu. For CRBA, potential applicants are directed to review the eligibility requirements before seeking an appointment. Appointments in Manila are requested via email at ManilaCRBAappt@state.gov, while those in Cebu are to be scheduled through the online Appointment Scheduling System.

An important reminder has been issued to bring all required documentation to the appointment to ensure efficient service.

The residents can refer to the State Department’s travel website for comprehensive travel guidance and advisories. Enrolling in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) is also recommended to receive alerts and facilitate location tracking in emergencies.

For more information, U.S. citizens may contact the U.S. Embassy in Manila at its Roxas Boulevard location during business hours or use the emergency number for after-hours assistance. Citizens may also call the provided toll-free numbers in the United States and Canada or use international contact numbers during specified hours.
