The U.S. Embassy in Dhaka has announced the opening of applications for the 2025-2026 Fulbright Teaching Excellence and Achievement (Fulbright TEA) Program. This initiative, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, offers scholarships to Bangladeshi secondary-level teachers in various subjects, including English, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. The program also welcomes special education teachers within these disciplines.

Selected participants will attend a six-week professional development program in the United States scheduled for January or September 2026. The program includes academic seminars designed to enhance teaching methodologies and instructional skills. Participants will have the opportunity to observe and collaborate with educators at host universities and local secondary schools.

Key components of the Fulbright TEA Program include general academic seminars focused on new teaching strategies such as student-centered learning and content-based instruction. Teachers needing additional language practice will receive intensive English language instruction. A significant part of the program is a practicum involving at least 40 hours of collaboration with a U.S. partner teacher at a nearby secondary school.

Eligibility criteria for applicants include being full-time secondary level teachers in relevant subjects, holding a bachelor's degree, possessing a minimum of five years of teaching experience, demonstrating leadership qualities, having strong English language skills, and residing in Bangladesh as Bangladeshi citizens.

Applications must be submitted by April 5, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. BST via the online portal provided by the program organizers. Further inquiries can be directed to DhakaUSExchanges@state.gov.
