The U.S. Embassy in Harare, Zimbabwe, has announced the availability of funding through its Public Diplomacy Small Grants Program for 2025. This initiative aims to strengthen connections between the United States and Zimbabwe by supporting projects that include an American component. The embassy invites proposals that focus on shared goals and values through exchanges.

According to the embassy, "PD Harare invites proposals for projects that strengthen networks between the people of the United States and the people of Zimbabwe through exchanges highlighting our shared goals and values." It is emphasized that all programs must incorporate an American element, such as expert engagement or collaborative travel.

The Annual Program Statement outlines eligibility criteria, including registered non-profit organizations from both countries. The application deadline is August 1, 2025, with awards ranging from $10,000 to $40,000. The program performance period should not exceed 18 months.

In addition to this initiative, applications are being accepted for the U.S. Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation (AFCP) 2025 Grants Program. This program supports preserving archaeological sites and cultural expressions with grants ranging from $10,000 to $500,000.

Eligible applicants are encouraged to submit concept notes by January 20, 2025. These notes should include project basics and a rationale for AFCP support.

Furthermore, the Ambassador’s Special Self-Help (SSH) Program is open for applications until January 15, 2024. This program focuses on small-scale development projects in Zimbabwe's communities with a budget between $8,000 and $15,000.

All interested parties must adhere strictly to submission guidelines outlined by the embassy in their respective announcements.
