Bishwa Ijtema, the world's second-largest Muslim gathering, is set to take place from January 31 to February 6 and again from February 14 to 18, 2025. The event will be held on the banks of the Turag River in Tongi, Gazipur, Bangladesh. It is expected to draw approximately four million attendees.

The annual event will significantly affect traffic patterns throughout Dhaka. Travel to and from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport could take several hours due to limited vehicular access on several major thoroughfares in the city.

Individuals are advised to review their travel plans during Bishwa Ijtema, allowing extra travel time and considering potential trip cancellations. Travelers heading to Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport should carry their airline tickets and be prepared for police checkpoints.

"Embassy operations are normal," stated a representative regarding U.S. Embassy operations during this period.

Attendees are urged to:

- Review travel plans and account for additional transit time.

- Carry proper identification and airline tickets if flying from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.

- Exercise caution near large gatherings or demonstrations.
