The United States Embassy in Abuja is set to conduct a sealed bid auction sale of used furniture, appliances, and empty shipping containers. The event will take place from February 18 to 20, 2025.

Prospective bidders can inspect the items and submit their bids on Tuesday and Wednesday, February 18-19, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, and on Thursday, February 20, from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. The location for this event is at the Embassy's premises in the Durumi District of Abuja.

Bidders will have access to the warehouse auction grounds under security supervision. Bidding sheets and a lot list will be available at the entrance. Bids must be submitted into a sealed box by the deadline of 2:00 pm on February 20.

The opening of bids will occur at 3:00 pm on Thursday, February 20. "U.S. Government Management representatives will open the box by 3:00 pm on Thursday," stated an embassy official. Winning bidders will be notified via phone or email by Friday, February 21.

Payments for winning bids are due between Tuesday and Wednesday, February 24-25, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Failure to make payments by this time may result in forfeiture of lots and exclusion from future sales events.

Customs duties are also payable during this period as customs officials will be present to collect dues. "Buyers are responsible for ensuring the payment of all appropriate Customs duties," noted the announcement.

Property removal is scheduled for Saturday, March 1, between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm.
