Dr. Rich Baldauf from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Izabela Misiewicz from the U.S. Embassy in Warsaw led a workshop for teachers involved in the Global Learning and Observations to Benefit the Environment (GLOBE) Program in Poland. The event aimed to introduce educational resources about air pollution, developed by the EPA, to educators running GLOBE programs at various Polish schools.

The workshop took place at Microsoft's offices in Warsaw, which collaborates with GLOBE on data sharing and technology resources for teachers. Dr. Baldauf specializes in air quality at the EPA.

The GLOBE Program is an international science and education initiative that enables students and the public worldwide to engage in data collection and scientific processes, enhancing understanding of Earth's systems and global environment.

GLOBE was announced by the U.S. Government on Earth Day 1994, with its global implementation starting in 1995. Today, it includes representatives from over 110 countries integrating GLOBE activities into their local communities.

The program is sponsored by NASA with support from NSF, NOAA, and the Department of State.
