The U.S. Consulate General in Mumbai is organizing a University Fair in Pune on September 13, 2014. This event, which is free and open to the public, will be held at the Westin Hotel in Koregaon Park from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m. The fair aims to provide students with insights into studying in the United States.
Attendees will have the opportunity to meet representatives from 25 diverse universities and colleges across the United States, including notable institutions such as Arizona State University, Columbia University, Harvard University, and Gallaudet University. The latter specializes in education for hearing-impaired individuals.
In addition to university representatives, consular officers from the U.S. Consulate General and advisers from the U.S.-India Educational Foundation (USIEF) will be present. They will deliver presentations and address questions regarding university selection and student visa applications. Representatives from globally-recognized testing organizations like SAT, GRE, GMAT, TOEFL, and IELTS will also attend.
U.S. Consul General in Mumbai Tom Vajda commented on the event's significance: “There are more than 100,000 Indian students studying in the United States. Given the quality and diversity of U.S. educational institutions, I am confident that Indian students can find a U.S. school that is the right fit for achieving their educational goals." He added that by bringing together alumni, education advisers, and consulate staff, "Indian students and their parents can get the information they need to make the best decisions about their academic futures.”
