The EducationUSA Center at the United States – India Educational Foundation (USIEF) is organizing a pre-departure orientation for students admitted to U.S. universities for the 2014-15 academic year. The event will take place on Thursday, June 26, 2014, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Hotel Savera in Chennai.

The orientation aims to help Indian students transition smoothly into American culture and student life. It includes interactive sessions covering travel planning, cultural adjustments, F-1 visa rules, and social and academic culture in the U.S. Speakers will feature a Vice Consul from the U.S. Consulate in Chennai, representatives from U.S. universities, and current students and alumni who have studied in the U.S.

"This orientation will also provide them the opportunity to meet other students travelling to various U.S. universities and create a network of contacts," states the press release.
