Notice for U.S. Citizens: March through Bratislava
A large-scale festival and parade is scheduled to take place in Bratislava on Saturday, July 19, from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., beginning and ending at Freedom Square. The event may cause traffic, parking, and public transit disruptions as well as street closures in central Bratislava along the parade route. Counterprotests are possible, and citizens are advised to check local media for updates.
The U.S. Embassy advises citizens to avoid demonstrations if possible, remain cautious of their surroundings, and practice situational awareness at all times. It is recommended to monitor local media for updates and stay aware of spontaneous counter-protests. In case of altercations or violence, individuals should remove themselves and any family or group members from the area immediately to a safe location such as a police officer or known public area.
