Alternate U.S. Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Robert Wood, held a meeting with Chadian Prime Minister Succès Masra. The discussion centered on the ongoing conflict in neighboring Sudan.
Ambassador Wood expressed appreciation for Chad's efforts in hosting nearly one million refugees from Sudan. He urged Prime Minister Masra to encourage the Sudanese Armed Forces to reopen the Chad-Sudan border to facilitate humanitarian assistance.
The dialogue also covered the significance of continuing efforts to build democratic institutions.
