Fred P. Hochberg, Chairman and President of the Export-Import Bank of the United States, is visiting Cairo to meet with government officials and private sector leaders. The purpose of the visit is to explore trade and investment opportunities in Egypt.

“We are pleased to again be able to support long-term business in Egypt,” said Hochberg before his arrival. “There is a robust pipeline of investment projects already underway, and I look forward to learning about further opportunities to bolster trade and investment between our two countries.”

During his six-year tenure, Hochberg has focused on expanding the global reach of key U.S. industries where exporters have a comparative advantage. These industries include renewable energy, space technology, construction and farm machinery, medical technology, agriculture, and avionics.

The Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM) serves as the official export credit agency for the U.S. It operates independently and self-sufficiently with an 80-year history in international markets. EXIM Bank provides loans to foreign public and private entities for purchasing U.S. goods and services. In 2015 alone, EXIM Bank approved $12.4 billion in total authorizations worldwide.
