The U.S. Department of State, through its Embassy and Consulate in Ecuador's Public Diplomacy Section, has announced a funding opportunity aimed at countering irregular migration in Ecuador. The program invites organizations and individuals to submit proposals for projects with innovative approaches to this issue.
The initiative is titled "FY2024 Countering Irregular Migration" and offers awards ranging from $15,000 to $30,000, with a total amount available up to $60,000. Proposals must focus on objectives such as raising public awareness through information campaigns, strengthening security cooperation, promoting economic growth, fostering community development, enhancing soft skills development, encouraging innovative solutions to migration challenges, and promoting collaborative efforts.
To be eligible for consideration, proposals must address one or more of these objectives and include a "U.S. component," which refers to aspects that reflect or involve the United States. This could mean promoting understanding of the U.S., fostering relationships between the U.S. and Ecuador, or reflecting U.S. interests.
Applications are open until July 15, 2024. Eligible applicants must have a Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) number issued via SAM.gov and valid registration on the same platform. Individuals are exempt from needing a UEI or SAM.gov registration.
All project activities funded by this grant must occur outside the United States and its territories. Program participants should be aged 15 or older.
