S&P Global has announced a new feature for its marketplace this week, aiming to simplify the search process with Generative AI-enabled search. This technology is expected to enhance the user experience by making it easier to find desired information on the platform.

S&P Global offers a wide range of solutions, including workflow solutions and the S&P Global marketplace, catering to various sectors such as governments, businesses, academia, insurance companies, and investment managers. The marketplace boasts an array of data sets accessible through PAI solutions, Capital IQ Pro, and cloud or data feed sources. Additionally, it provides expert analysis to assist users in decision-making processes.

Bhavesh Dayalji, Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer at S&P Global and Chief Executive Officer at Kensho, expressed his enthusiasm about the new offering. "This exciting new offering on Marketplace is another example of how S&P Global is accelerating the adoption of AI across the company with the purpose of transforming how our customers interact with our data assets and solutions and integrate our services into their workflows using AI. The new AI-powered search engine revolutionizes the way we serve our customers and enable them to discover new datasets in a seamless and intuitive way," said Dayalji.

The generative AI search responds to natural language searches by providing detailed answers. It can also suggest other services and data sets that may be beneficial to the user. This innovative feature was developed in collaboration with Kensho and Marketplace Intelligence - two divisions of S&P Global. Kensho is recognized as the company's AI-innovation division which was incorporated into S&P Global in 2018. The advanced AI technology facilitates users in finding insights through a variety of solutions such as Scribe - an on-demand transcription service; and Kenso Named Entity Recognition and Disambiguation (NERD), among others.

Justine Iverson, Head of S&P Global Marketplace and Capital IQ Solutions Strategy shared her perspective on this development: "As data and solution demands increase, we saw a compelling opportunity to combine Kensho's Generative AI capabilities with the S&P Global Marketplace. Our clients now benefit from an innovative search experience that meets them where they are on their discovery journey — whether it's initial research to a more technical understanding of our offerings," said Iverson.
