Leading Chinese smart lock company Kaadas Group announced an expansion of operations into North America, starting with a warehouse in Southern California, according to a press release published on Jan. 5.

Kaadas North America will offer traditional electronic locks, as well as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Z-Wave-connected smart lock products.

"As the Kaadas brand continues to innovate and grow, we are excited to bring our revolutionary smart lock products and manufacturing capabilities to the North American market," said Kaadas North America CEO Nick English. "With our strong manufacturing capability and a stacked engineering group, we are able to offer high-quality, innovative products at a small price tag."

Based in Shenzen, Guangdong, and with over 30 years of activity, 2,000 employees and products in 67 countries, Kaadas' growth as a business is attributed in the release to its vertically integrated business model. The company does in-house research, development, manufacturing and testing, and has acquired over 400 Chinese and international patents and software copyrights. Currently, Kaadas is the largest lock brand in its native country, as well as the third largest in the world. Its line of products includes mortise, rim, deadbolt and latch bolt smart locks. The company is also well-known for its locks' high-tech, high-quality designs, such as a lock designed with the Italian car company Lamborghini that allows for 3D face recognition.
