The MIH Consortium, an enterprise by Hon Hai Technology Group Taipei, Taiwan, plans to launch an Innovation Hub near the Foxconn facility in Ohio, a press release reported.

"MIH is not only a pioneer in the open EV platform, but also an expert in the automotive supply chain," said Jack Cheng, CEO of MIH Consortium.

According to the press release, MIH brings together global supply chain partners to share expertise in electric vehicles and other mobility projects as well as new software and hardware open platforms.

Hon Hai Technology has multiple locations to bring its top EV partners together from around the world.

"There are many emerging EV brands in the U.S. market that need the support of diverse supply chain partners," Cheng said. "MIH can bring together top partners from around the world, allowing OEMs to communicate directly and break the hierarchical model of the traditional automotive industry. This will help accelerate the development and mass production of new EVs."

Hon Hai Technology has two factories in the U.S. The one in Wisconsin primarily focuses on ICT products and can be used as a future development hub for the EV industry. The one in Ohio mainly manufactures Lordstown Motors commercial pickups and other vehicles.

"These two factories are located along an automotive corridor that spans several states in the Midwest, which will help drive the development of the entire supply chain," Cheng said.
