A government official recently sworn in to lead the government’s “efforts to promote exports abroad and attract inward investment” will represent the United States at the Andicom regional information and communications technology conference in Colombia, South America.
Arun Venkataraman, assistant secretary of commerce for global markets and director general of the U.S. and Foreign Commercial Service, will meet with local leaders, business leaders and the Gustavo Petro administration “to discuss U.S. and Colombian priorities for the bilateral commercial relationship” during event, according to an International Trade Administration news release.
“I am eager to showcase the leadership and innovation of the United States ICT sector to our partners in Colombia, and I look forward to engaging with Colombia’s newly inaugurated leadership to reaffirm the United States’ commitment to a strong, mutually beneficial commercial relationship with Colombia,” Venkataraman said in the release.
The Andicom conference ran Aug. 31-Sept. 2 and was organized by Cintel, according to the official website.
