Stilla Technologies has brought in Yvan Sergeant to serve as vice president/general manager of its EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Africa) operations, a recent Business Wire press release said.

“I am delighted to join Stilla Technologies to further accelerate the market adoption of the naica system, a digital PCR platform that combines – on a single, flexible platform – the desirable functionalities to support both a broad range of routine applications as well as those most demanding applications where absolute quantitation with the highest possible levels of sensitivity and multiplexing are required,” Sergeant said in the release.

Prior to accepting his role with Stilla Technologies, Sergeant garnered over twenty years of life science experience, strengthening marketing teams and promoting significant genomic and proteomic growth. He fulfilled various roles for PerkinElmer, Caliper Life Sciences and Trinean, among other companies.

The appointment will aid the company’s existing collaborations with its new distribution partners in Asia, such as ApexBio in China; Cycloud Bio in China; FUJIFILM in Japan; ThunderBio Science in South Korea; DKSH in Malaysia, New Zealand and Australia; Sciencewerke in Singapore; LevelBio in Taiwan; Bio-Active in Thailand; ITS in Vietnam; and Eppendorf in India.

“As research solution providers we are witnessing the increasing demand for digital PCR analysis and have selected Stilla's naica platform as the most capable solution to address the diversity of market dynamics that this part of the world is known for,” Sean Barker, DKSH Holding in Australia, said in the release. “We have been impressed by the vision of the company and its ability to translate industry needs into innovative, quality products supported by a quality team.”

Earlier this year, the multiplex digital PCR company also confirmed the addition of twelve new distribution partners in the region to help strengthen its local direct sales channels.

“Yvan is the right, seasoned leader for Stilla to manage direct and indirect market access channels in EMEA,” Philippe Mourere, president and CEO of Stilla Technologies, said in the release. “With today's addition of six strategic partners in APAC, Stilla substantially increases its global market presence, and strengthens its ability to serve customers globally.”
