ShipBob recently welcomed Guillaume ‘G’ Deront as its new general manager of Australia, according to a press release.

“Australia is a breeding ground for successful ecommerce brands, and ShipBob is uniquely positioned to help businesses expand their footprint across various sales channels and geographies,” Deront said. “As more and more Australian and New Zealand brands look to reach a global customer base, ShipBob’s offering of best-in-class fulfilment services and its logistics platform in Australia continues to set an industry standard, and I’m excited to be a part of it. I can't wait to build the future success of the Australian ShipBob office.”

Under his new role, Deront will be responsible for overseeing Shipbob’s Australia and New Zealand-based potential and existing business efforts and bring the company’s tech, analytics, transparent billing and pricing structure capabilities from across Australia, the EU, UK, U.S. and Canada to local merchants.

The executive will contribute the experience he garnered under his previous role as head of sales and success teams at Shippit, where he helped leverage the global omnifulfilment platform and U.S.-based supply chain’s last-mile strategy.

ShipBob recently released its annual State of Ecommerce Fulfilment Report, which revealed that more than 70% of surveyed ecommerce brands plan to add a new sales channel this year, and 32% hope to carry out their global expansion plans soon.

The company’s quest to strengthen its operations in Australia comes as the International Trade Association reveals that ecommerce sales in the region have grown by 15.5% year-over-year, ranking as the 11th largest ecommerce market worldwide. According to data projections, its revenue will likely amount to AUD 46.44 million by 2024.

Its platform integrates with various top ecommerce brands in the region, including Shopify, BigCommerce, Amazon, Klaviyo and Gorgias, offering best-in-class ecommerce solutions.

“Having Deront leading the ShipBob charge in Australia is very exciting for our company,” said Divey Gulati, president and co-founder of ShipBob. “Australia is a key global market for ShipBob, and we’re thrilled to have Deront and his many years of leadership and experience front and centre with us, especially as ShipBob experiences growth throughout Australia. With Deront's help, we are excited to help Australian brands to scale locally and globally with our fulfilment network and capabilities.”
