Cardo Systems, with headquarters in both Texas and in Israel, recently launched a new full-scale research and development facility in Straubing, Germany, according to Cision PR Newswire.
According to LinkedIn, Cardo Systems is the world’s market leader in Bluetooth, DMC (Dynamic Mesh Communication) and entertainment systems for motorcycle riders.
"For many years, Cardo has identified in-helmet audio and acoustics as one of the key factors in today's riding experience,” Alon Lumbroso, CEO of Cardo Systems, told Cision PR Newswire. “In 2018, we were the first to bring premium sound by JBL, and now, with the addition of the new Cardo Sound Labs, we aim to increase the audio gap even further."
Spanning 600 square miles, the new facility will be used to maintain Cardo’s future sound developments, specializing in acoustics, speech processing and sound solutions for its wide array of power sports, outdoor and professional communication devices.
The location will be led by a team of scientists with more than 150 years of combined automotive and consumer audio experience. The experts specialize in sound, physics, electronics, speech processing and mechanical engineering, with previous experience at Harman, Samsung, Nokia, NXP and DSPG.
Cardo's goal with the new initiative is to “increase the company's edge and bring new generations of sound solutions to its riders, worldwide,” Cision PR Newswire said.
“To achieve this and support the team's developments going forward, the new Straubing facility contains fully furbished sound labs complete with anechoic chamber, ETSI (European Telecommunications Standards Institute) room, rapid prototyping lab, Automotive lab, NVH (noise vibration harshness) automotive lab and office space,” the press release stated.
