NetAbstraction has expanded to Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) with the opening of a new office in Cork, Ireland amid rising demand for cyber security in the region.

“Even without a presence in EMEA we have been experiencing accelerating in-bound demand for our products especially in the UK,” NetAbstraction CEO Gordon Lawson said in a recent press release.

The network privacy and security company has brought in former AT&T cybersecurity executive Conor O’Brien to lead operations in the region as vice president of EMEA sales.

“Conor is a proven sales leader with years of experience working with cybersecurity vendors in the region. He will manage our new office in Cork, and grow our operations in the region from Ireland,” Lawson said.

According to a press release, NetAbstraction uses systems capable of concealing its clients’ important data, applications and other business cloud resource platform components.

With this new launch, the Virginia-based agency will bring its latest technology development to help protect businesses from potential ransomware and other cyber security threats.

The company is closing in on EMEA after detecting its vulnerability to security threats and regional privacy legislations including GDPR, and other means of infiltrations from attackers and competitors, a press release stated.

All aspects of businesses will be led by O’Brien, who will contribute years of sales experience from his prior years at AT&T’s cybersecurity department. The executive has also contributed to open source SIEM vendor, AlienVault, and has garnered knowledge about organizations and channel program sales for vendors across EMEA throughout his years in the industry.

“NetAbstraction enables customers to protect their employees, network and cloud infrastructure from virtually every type of cyber threat using obfuscation,” O’Brien said in a press release. “We provide unprecedented protection for any size organization that is affordable and doesn’t require any complex integration. It’s an exciting technology and company to be part of, and a great opportunity to open up the EMEA market.”
