Juniper Networks recently announced that Sparkle, an international service provider in Italy, has released Juniper’s 400G solutions to meet increasing bandwidth demand in a cost-effective manner.

Sparkle Chief Technology Officer Enrico Bagnasco said the 400G platform from Juniper will be a powerful tool ensuring the company can match growing traffic demands at a competitive “price-per-port” (PoP) without sacrificing reliability or features, according to a Feb. 23 press release.

“Juniper is pleased to support customers like Sparkle as they balance their sustainability journey with achieving their commercial goals and customer experience requirements,” Juniper Networks Chief Technology Officer Raj Yavatkar said in the release. “We share Sparkle’s vision of having a significantly positive impact on the environment and believe that innovation in sustainable technology is as important as reducing our environmental footprint.”

The service will be provided over a proprietary network of over 600,000 kilometers of fiber, the release stated.

Juniper’s technology enables Sparkle to reduce space and power consumption in its core PoPs and makes 400G connections easier to manage with fewer ports, according to the release. The company’s silicon advancements also reduce the number of watts consumed per gigabit, allowing for high-speed data transmissions at lower power levels.

The new 400G platform will have the capability to reach Europe, the Mediterranean and the Americas, according to the release.
